The Following and Mixology alum Adan Canto is ready to get his curse on.

The actor has nabbed the lead in The Curse of the Fuentes Women, NBC's drama pilot from Ugly Betty creator Silvio Horta, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

The drama centers on a magical and mysterious young man who, when he inexplicably emerges from the ocean, breathes new passion into the lives of the Fuentes women — the beautiful but lonely Lola, her ailing mother, Esperanza, and her troubled daughter, Soledad.

Canto will star as Salvador, a mysterious stranger who washes up on Miami Beach and comes into the lives of the Fuentes woman, reviving a link to a magical past.

The role marks Canto's latest broadcast commitment, following ABC bar comedy Mixology as well as Fox thriller The Following, where he played villain Paul Torres.

Curse marks Horta's first TV foray since ABC's Ugly Betty ended its run in 2010. He'll write and exec produce the Warner Bros. Television drama via his Silent H Productions banner alongside Andrew Maher.

Canto is repped by UTA, manager Aida Bernal and attorney Joe Weiner.
