'The Voice' Final Four Revealed
Season 15’s final four were announced Tuesday night on NBC's The Voice, as four unlucky artists were sent home following Monday night’s semifinal performances. Three artists automatically advanced based on Monday night’s voting, and two artists were automatically eliminated. That left the artists in fourth, fifth, and sixth places to fight for the Instant Save and round out the final four.
The Top 8 were brought out to the stage, and the first artist to advance to the final four was Blake Shelton’s Kirk Jay.
After a performance by Michael Bublé and some outtakes from previous episodes, the semifinalists returned. Kelly Clarkson’s Chevel Shepherd made it through to the final four.
Hailee Steinfeld also performed “Back to Life” from the movie Bumblebee. Then, it was time to announce the final artist to automatically make it into the final four. America voted through Team Blake’s Chris Kroeze, so Shelton got both of his semifinalists into the finals.
After coach Jennifer Hudson sang, the last of the results came in. Singing for the Instant Save were Team Jennifer’s MaKenzie Thomas, Adam Levine’s Reagan Strange and Team Jennifer’s Kennedy Holmes. Semifinalists Sarah Grace and Kymberli Joye were eliminated.
For her Instant Save performance, Thomas sang “Up to the Mountain,” a song choice that played to her strengths. She gave an emotional performance with impressive vocals and technical skills.
Strange followed with a performance of “Wherever You Will Go” and couldn’t quite rise to the challenge of the high-stakes situation, her nerves affecting her pitch. Still, Levine made it clear that no matter what happened, she would be taking huge steps in her career.
Holmes closed the performances out by singing “How Do I Live” by LeAnn Rimes. She also seemed a little nervous, but remained true to her sound and personality. And it paid off: Holmes was voted through to the final four, and Strange and Thomas went home. With the elimination of Strange, Levine won’t have an artist in the final four this season.
Next week, the final four sing for the championship on season 15 of The Voice.
