'Walking Dead' Star Doesn't Know Who Died in Season 6 Finale

Chandler Riggs — who plays Carl — says he's still in the dark about who met Lucille.

When The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman told THR that it was going to be a "painful summer" for fans of the zombie drama, he may have been talking about the show's stars as well.

Sunday's season six finale ended with a massive cliffhanger. Comic book villain Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) made his long-awaited debut when the AMC series brought to life multiple panels from its source material. In the 100th issue of Kirkman's comics, Negan uses Lucille, his baseball bat covered in barbed wire, to savagely beat Glenn to death. Sunday's season finale cut to black and revealed only the sounds of someone meeting the same fate.

Following the episode, star Riggs — who plays Rick's fierce warrior son Carl — took to Twitter to share that he, too, still had no idea who met their maker in the season six finale.

The 90-minute season six finale saw Negan's group, the Saviors, herd Rick's RV into precisely the area that they were holding Daryl, Michonne and Rosita. The episode cut to black to reveal only the sounds of Negan beating one of the 11 members of the group to death.

The ending left the fate of the following characters up in the air: Rick (Andrew Lincoln), Michonne (Danai Gurira), Glenn (Steven Yeun), Daryl (Norman Reedus), Rosita (Christian Serratos), Carl (Chandler Riggs), Maggie (Lauren Cohan), Aaron (Ross Marquand), Eugene (Josh McDermitt), Abraham (Michael Cudlitz) and Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green).
