Whoopi Goldberg is turning the lens on her family for a new docuseries.

The View personality, actress and comedian is teaming with 44 Blue Productions Wahlburgers) to develop a docuseries revolving around her daughter, Alex Martin, and her extended family, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. A network has not yet been attached.

Goldberg has inked a deal with 44 Blue to produce the untitled docuseries that will focus on Martin and her three children -- now in their teens and 20s -- as she reinvents herself personally and professionally with the help of her husband, Bernard, and their best friends, Leisa (the daughter of actor Lee Weaver) and Ron. But when her oldest daughter, Amara, decides to move back home -- with her fiancé and new baby -- suddenly three generations will be living under one roof and Alex's plans may have to be put on hold.

“I wanted to tell the story of two best friends who experience all of the major phases of a woman’s life together,” Goldberg said. “Alex and Leisa have been friends since they were 17 and are both children of famous people, and are now approaching 40. My daughter just became a grandmother and her daughter just turned 24 and they are just trying to figure their lives out. This is really the story of an all-American family for a new generation; it looks a little different than the storybooks, but it’s filled with love and laughter. It's very funny to watch them.”

Stephanie and Rasha Drachkovich will exec produce for 44 Blue; Goldberg,Tom Leonardis and Alex Dean will oversee via Goldberg's One Ho Productions. 44 Blue is repped by WME; One Ho is with CAA.

Goldberg's One Ho most recently produced the HBO documentary Moms Mabley and the Lifetime series Strong Medicine and telepic A Day Late and a Dollar Short. 44 Blue's credits also include Animal Planet's Pit Bulls & Parolees and MSNBC's Lockup.
