With many fans likely starting to sweat about the series' future, Fox has handed out a renewal for summer standby So You Think You Can Dance.

Marking one of the reality competition's latest renewal notices yet, So You Think You Can Dance will air its 15th cycle this summer, as it usually does, and reunite last year's judges panel of Nigel Lythgoe, Mary Murphy and Vanessa Hudgens. Cat Deeley is also back on board as host.

“I am always blown away by the sheer level of raw talent on this show,” said Fox Broadcasting Company president of alternative entertainment Rob Wade. “These are real people — unknown stars in their own right. And each week, they tell compelling, emotional stories through their craft. We can’t wait for Nigel, Mary, Vanessa and Cat to hit the road once again and uncover the phenomenal talent that’s out there.”

So You Think You Can Dance has seen its ratings drop in recent summers, but remains a consistent draw. It will be joined this year by another reality competition, with Fox recently renewing and fast-tracking a second go of event singing competition The Four.

“It’s incredible to make it to 15 seasons, which just speaks to the impact this program has had, not only on the world of dance, but also on our loyal fans and viewers, to whom we are most grateful,” added co-creator Lythgoe, who also serves as executive producer on the Dick Clark Productions and 19 Entertainment effort.

A renewal for So You Think You Can Dance, however modest its viewership, is a reflection of the value of more established formats. Even when pulling a fraction of their former audience, they remain more valuable to networks than swinging and missing on new reality projects.

Auditions for So You Think You Can Dance will kick off in March.
