CBS Films has closed a deal to acquire Split, a spec script by Adam Gierasch and Jace Anderson.
The story centers on a young woman who, having spent most of her life bouncing between foster homes and institutions, is surprised when she is sought out by an identical twin she never knew existed. She also discovers that she and her sister have powerful abilities and must go on the run to keep their secrets hidden from threatening mysterious forces.

Gierasch and Anderson developed the idea with CBS Films execs before going off to write the script. Ryan Conroy will oversee for the company.
The duo is best known for their horror fare. They’ve worked with horror icon Tobe Hooper, penning the director’s mid-2000s movies Toolbox Murder and Mortuary. They worked on Mother of Tears for horror maven Dario Argento and penned the Jean-Claude Van Damme movie Derailed.
Gierasch also directed Night of the Demon and Fertile Ground, which he and Anderson wrote.
Anderson and Gierasch are repped by Gersh.
