Clive Owen has joined Dane DeHaan and Cara Delevingne in Valerian, Luc Besson’s high-profile adaptation of the classic French comic strip.
Besson made the announcement via Instagram.
Besson’s EuropaCorp banner will finance, produce and distribute.
DeHaan is set to play the titular character, a space- and time-traveling agent from a futuristic Earth, with Delevingne starring as his red-haired companion, Laureline.
Owen is playing a character known simply as the Commander Arün Filitt.
The actor currently stars in Cinemax’s acclaimed period drama The Knick. He is repped by CAA.
