Nocterra isn’t the only all-new project that comic book superstar Scott Snyder is releasing under his Best Jackett label; he’s also planning an apocalyptic thriller called Chain with up-and-coming artist Ariela Kristantina. Those who’ve contributed to the Nocterra crowdfunding campaign will get a glimpse at what to expect, with Kristantina contributing a print to the project — and The Hollywood Reporter has an exclusive sneak peek.
Kristantina’s print is one of a number of images created for those who backed the Nocterra Collector’s Edition at the physical level, and features a rare chance to see the series’ protagonist, Valentina “Val” Riggs, in a contemplative moment of rest. (The full print can be seen below.)
Other artists creating prints for the campaign to send to backers include BossLogic, Francis Manapul (Justice League, The Flash), and Jock (Judge Dredd, Wytches).
Chain, Snyder’s collaboration with Kristantina, will be the second Best Jackett Press title, and the writer has said in a statement that the project “is one that’s benefiting directly from [backers’] incredible support on our Nocterra Kickstarter campaign,” adding, “I feel lucky and grateful to be working with Ariela, and I encourage all of you to go see out her work and follow her on social media — she’s fantastic!”
Chain is currently unscheduled.
