Art imitates reality in Con Man.
The Vimeo web series stars Nathan Fillion and Alan Tudyk and features a storyline that is reminiscent of the actors’ experience co-starring on Joss Whedon‘s gone-too-soon TV series, Firefly.
Tudyk plays Wray Nerely, the star of the much-beloved and swiftly canceled sci-fi TV series, Spectrum, who is a frequent guest at sci-fi conventions and comic book store appearances. Fillion plays his Spectrum co-star, Jack Moor, who has since gone on to gain the celebrity that Nerely wishes for himself.
In this exclusive clip, we see Tudyk trying to convince an overzealous fan to switch to a different seat on an airplane, so he can get some peace and quiet.
The Vimeo series was funded through Indiegogo, receiving $3.2 million — the third highest funded film campaign on any crowdfunding site.
Con Man will be released on Vimeo on Sept. 30.
