Lionsgate has picked up Epic Fail, a comedy pitch that has Ed Helms attached to star.
Helms developed the idea with Nicky Weinstock, a former production exec-turned-producer. Mike Arnold and Chris Poole will now write the script.
STORY: Ed Helms, Kevin Hart Slip Into DreamWorks Animation’s ‘Captain Underpants’
According to Lionsgate, Epic Fail centers on “an elite but highly unorthodox special forces team [that] takes their dysfunction and excessive firepower on a desperate mission to save America, led by the only soldier more badass and more mustachioed than a Navy SEAL, The Walrus.”
Helms is producing with Michael Falbo via their Pacific Electric Picture Co. along with Weinstock and his Invention Films. Whitney Thomas of Invention Films will executive produce.
