The sounds of the War Rig leading a post-apocalyptic road war in George Miller’s Mad Max: Fury Road gave Mark Mangini and David White their first Oscar for sound editing on Sunday night.
Mangini was previously nominated for The Fifth Element, Aladdin and Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home. This was White’s first nomination.
Also nominated were Oliver Tarney for The Martian; Martin Hernandez and Lon Bender for The Revenant; Alan Robert Murray for Sicario; and Matthew Wood and David Acord for Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
