Ben Foster took home the award for best supporting actor at the Independent Spirit Awards for his performance in Hell or High Water.
“Being in this room among you all is a shock. This is why we do what we do,” Foster said at the podium upon accepting his award. “We’re builders, we build. This is a room full of beautiful architects and poets. This room is a room filled with people who say, ‘I feel.'”
The actor was up against Ralph Fiennes (A Bigger Splash), Lucas Hedges (Manchester by the Sea), Shia LaBeouf (American Honey) and Craig Robinson (Morris From America).
John Mulaney and Nick Kroll hosted the 32nd annual Independent Spirit Awards, which took place in Santa Monica Saturday afternoon.
