Gravitas Ventures has acquired U.S. and Canadian VOD rights to Actor for Hire.
Marcus Mizelle directed the satire, which stars Ted 2‘s Jesse O’Neill and The Walking Dead’s Jesse C. Boyd. Mizelle produced the comedy alongside Jillian Longnecker (End of Watch) of Forte Pictures, with Dustin Taylor executive producing.
Jandres Burgos (Reclaim), Greg Perrow (Anger Management), Najee De-Tiege (Power Rangers Samurai), JT Alexander (10 Cent Pistol) and newcomers Hollie Shay, Cynthia Bravo and Joel Hogan also star.
Actor for Hire follows an out of work actor who thinks he’s not landing parts because he’s bald. After donning a cheap wig, he begins to book parts, proving just how superficial Hollywood can be.
The deal for the U.S. and Canadian VOD rights was negotiated by Gravitas Ventures’ Chad Miller.
Actor for Hire is currently playing in limited release in theaters.
