The world premiere of Moana, Disney’s upcoming animated feature, will be a Special Screening at this year’s AFI Fest, which is set to run Nov. 10-17.
The movie follows Moana Waialiki (voiced by newcomer Auli’i Cravalho), a young girl from the South Pacific who sets sail for a fabled island with the help of ancient demi-god Maui (Dwayne Johnson).
Other films in the Special Screenings section of the fest include Bright Lights: Starring Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds, Lion, Paterson and Toni Erdmann.
As previously announced, the Hollywood-based film festival will host the world premieres of Miss Sloane, The Comedian and Warren Beatty’s Rules Don’t Apply, which will act as the opening-night film.
