Enderby Entertainment, who produced Daniel Alfredson’s Venice festival title Go With Me starring Anthony Hopkins and Julia Stiles, will produce and finance An Ordinary Man.
Kingsley will play a war criminal in hiding who begins to form a relationship with his maid (played by Icelandic rising star Hera Hilmar). As the search for him intensifies, he realizes she is the only person he can trust. British actor Peter Serafinowicz (Spy, Guardians of the Galaxy) co-stars. Principle photography is set to begin next week on location in Belgrade, Serbia.
Enderby’s Rick Dugdale will produce An Ordinary Man alongside Silberling via his Reveal Entertainment shingle, and Kingsley with his Lavender Pictures label. Daniel Petrie, Jr. of Enderby will executive produce.
Kingsley was most recently seen in was seen in Robert Zemeckis’ The Walk and stars alongside Nicholas Hoult, Hopkins and Felicity Jones in Eran Creevy’s action thriller Collide (aka Autobahn). The Oscar-winner will also voice The Jungle Book‘s panther Bagheera in Jon Favreau’s upcoming animated reboot of the classic children’s tale.
Kingsley is headlining another hot AFM title: he is attached to star alongside Josh Hutcherson in Fortitude International’s political thriller Backstabbing For Beginners.
Hilmar headlined last year’s award-winning Icelandic drama Life in a Fishbowl and is a regular on Starz’ renaissance series Da Vinci’s Demons.
UTA packaged the film and arranged financing. Nolan Pielak negotiated the deal on behalf of Electric Entertainment.
