Bruce Willis has added another action title to his arsenal.
The 65-year-old star of the Die Hard franchise, alongside The Fifth Element, Pulp Fiction, Unbreakable and Looper has wrapped production on Apex, from director Edward Drake and writer Corey Large, The Hollywood Reporter can reveal.
Shot in Victoria, Canada, the sci-fi action-thriller tells the story of five elite hunters who pay to hunt down a man on a deserted island. But each of them begins to fall as their prey fights back with mind games, traps, and a determination to survive they have never witnessed before.
Willis stars alongside Neal McDonough (Band of Brothers, Captain America: The First Avenger), Large, Megan Peta-Hill (The X-Files, Broil), Nels Lennarson (Cold Pursuit, Horns), Trevor Gretzky (Lethal Weapon, Mile 22) and Alexia Fast (Jack Reacher, The Captive) in the film, which The Exchange is selling at the virtual American Film Market.
Apex, produced by Large for 308 Enterprises (It Follows, The November Man), marks another collaboration between Willis, The Exchange and 308 Enterprises, following sci-actioned Cosmic Sin, which Large directed, wrote and produced, and Reactor, announced at this year’s virtual Cannes market.
The film is being financed by BondIt Media Capital in partnership with Arcana Studios, with Matthew Helderman, Luke Taylor and Grady Craig of BondIt Media Capital, Stephen Eads and Johnny Messner serving as executive producers.
