Independent film and television distributor Alchemy has named veteran executive Scott Guthrie COO.
Guthrie will oversee several of Alchemy’s divisions, and will report to CEO Bill Lee.
“Scott is the perfect fit for the role with a tremendous background in building profitable global business models throughout his career,” said Lee.
Previously, Guthrie was served as executive vp of Paramount Pictures Home Entertainment and also served as Viacom’s exec vp and general manager of MTV Games, where he oversaw the global development of the popular Rockband franchise.
Norbert Hudak, who previously held the title of senior vp marketing and brand management at Cinedigm Corp, has been hired as Alchemy’s senior vp affinity pods and business development. In his new position he will develop, acquire and maximize the distributor’s action, horror, faith, family, urban and documentary slates.
Also part of the announcement, Jim Jenkins has been promoted to executive vp strategic business development and mergers & acquisitions, where he previously held the title of senior vp.
Alchemy is an independent distributor of film and television content across all platforms and windows, with upcoming releases that include Rob Zombie’s 31 and Colin Farrell‘s sci-fi comedy The Lobster, among others.
