The pic, released in May 2002, made superhero history when grossing $821.7 million worldwide. It made $403.7 million in the North America, and $418 million overseas, launching one of the most successful film series of all time.
Zade Rosenthal/Sony PicturesJust in time for the release of Columbia Pictures’ The Amazing Spider-Man, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment is re-releasing the original Spider-Man movie trilogy on Blu-ray.
Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2 and Spider-Man 3, starring Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst, James Franco and directed by Sam Raimi, will hit stores June 12. Amazing Spider-Man is set to debut July 3.
Sony already has released mighty fine editions on Blu-ray for the trilogy with mighty fine extras. The new editions will have those bonuses but not much else.
Spider-Man 2 and 3 won’t have any new features at all other than “collectable O-Ring packaging” and a code for a free ticket to a new movie (but only if the ticket costs $10 or less).
The new edition of Spider-Man will come with a Spider Sense Trivia Game and The Spider-Man Cutting Room Floor, the latter which will allow you to create and share a Spidey video using clips and music from the movie.
SPHE last week announced that it is re-releasing Men in Black on Blu-ray while also putting out Men In Black 2 on Blu-ray for the first time. The moves are timed to the May 25 opening of Men in Black 3.
Bonus features are the same as the previous-issued DVDs, but MiB2 will have a playable MiB PlayStation 3 game demo from Activision.
The Blu-rays, which include UltraViolet and a movie ticket offer, are due to hit stories May 1.

Fans of The Twlight Zone need to mark June 5 on their calendars as the day Image Entertainment will release all 156 episodes of the influential anthology series on Blu-ray in one boxed set: The Twilight Zone: The Complete Series. Be ready to plunk down $399.98 for the set.
That same day, Image is also putting forth the Blu-ray version of its popular set, The Twilight Zone: Fan Favorites, which collects 19 classic episodes.
