American Cinema Editors announced its 2021 awards schedule with the Eddies slated for Sunday, April 18. Presentation details are not yet confirmed.
The organization also added a new category, “animation non-theatrical,” which covers animated series or other animated programs that go directly to broadcast or streaming services. A theatrical feature animation category was added to the Eddies lineup in 2010.
Reflecting changes to the awards season calendar driven by the novel coronavirus pandemic, this year’s Eddies feature-film eligibility period is Jan. 1, 2020–Feb. 28, 2021. TV eligibility runs Nov. 2, 2019–Jan. 1, 2020.
The complete schedule follows:
Nov. 2 – Submissions for nominations begin
Feb. 12, 2021 – Submissions for nominations end
Feb. 19 – Nominations ballots sent
March 8 – Nominations ballots due
March 11 – Nominations announced
March 19 – Final ballots sent
March 19–March 26 – Online Blue Ribbon screening
March 26 – Final ballots closed
April 18 – Awards presented
