Amy Schumer tackles rape and football in her new Friday Night Lights parody called “Football Town Nights.”
In the sketch, she deftly uses comedy to broach the important subject of the pervasiveness of rape culture. Coach Thompson is the new football coach in a small town, and his new code of conduct for his players involves no raping, ever.

“What if it’s Halloween and she’s dressed like a sexy cat?” asks one of the players. “What if she thinks it’s rape but I don’t?” asks another. The answer is no, not even with a sexy ladybug costume. The town is not happy with the coach’s actions. Even Schumer’s Mrs. Coach questions her husband’s stance as she drinks large glasses of wine while dancing in true Tami Taylor style.
“Rape is good fodder for comedy because it’s the worst thing in the whole world — it’s untouchable,” Schumer recently said while speaking about the new Inside Amy Schumer season at the Tribeca Film Festival. “It’s always a risk. … We do our best to not have people check out or be offended but still get the message. … We know what our intentions are so we’re never worried about going there.”
