Every woman knows in real life the trick to no-makeup makeup is, in fact, actual makeup — just a lighter touch and more natural shades. We ladies also know that being exceptionally blessed in the looks department is key to pulling off the sans cosmetic look and not feeling like a troll. So the lyrics to “Girl, You Don’t Need Makeup,” sung by a quartet of One Direction-looking boys as they encourage Amy Schumer to wash it all off, are totally on point.
It starts off, “But you don’t need no lipstick, you don’t need no blush, because you’ve got that inner natural glow…You don’t need makeup, you’re perfect when you wake up, just walk around like that all day.” Predictably, once Schumer has wiped off every stitch of makeup, there’s this: “H-h-hold up girl we spoke up too soon, with this whole no makeup tune, we’ve kind of changed our mind on the makeup thing. You’d be the hottest girl in the nation, with just a little foundation.”
