AnnaSophia Robb is set to star in Down a Dark Hall, Lionsgate’s adaptation of the teen chiller based on a book by Lois Duncan, the author of I Know What You Did Last Summer.
Rodrigo Cortes is directing the feature, which is being produced by Twilight author Stephenie Meyer and her Fickle Fish Films partner Meghan Hibbett. Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen of Temple Hill are also producing, as is Adrian Guerra of Nostromo Pictures
Dark Hall is described a drama that veers into a supernatural mystery, telling the story of Kit Gordy, a troubled teen with a haunted past who is committed to Blackwood, a mysterious school for gifted but disturbed girls, where she uncovers its hidden and horrifying purpose.
Duncan’s book was first published in 1974.
Isaac Klausner of Temple Hill will executive produce alongside Nuria Valls of Nostromo. Nostromo is financing the film with the participation of Atresmedia Cine.
Robb may be best known for starring as a young Carrie Bradshaw in The Carrie Diaries and for portraying one-armed surfer and shark-attack survivor Bethany Hamilton in 2011’s Soul Surfer. The actress appears on the PBS drama Mercy Street and stars in Freak Show, a drama that marks the directorial debut of Trudie Styler.
Robb is repped by CAA, Untitled Entertainment and Schreck Rose.
