Pregnant Anne Hathaway has given the world the baby bump photo it’s been waiting for — and so the paparazzi couldn’t do it first.
On Sunday, the Oscar-winning actress posted a photo on Instagram of herself on the beach in a teensy red bikini, proudly holding her growing belly.

It was first reported in late November that The Devil Wears Prada star and her husband, producer Adam Shulman, were expecting, but the couple had yet to comment. Now, it appears the paparazzi were the catalyst for Hathaway finally confirming the happy news with an admittedly uncharacteristic photo posted to social media.
The 33-year-old captioned her revealing photo, “Happy 2016 to my beautiful Instafriends! So, posting a bikini pic is a little out of character for me, but just now while I was at the beach I noticed I was being photographed.” The Intern star added, “I figure if this kind of photo is going to be out in the world it should at least be an image that makes me happy (and be one that was taken with my consent. And with a filter 🙂 Wishing you all love, light and blessings for the year ahead!”

This is the first child for Hathaway and Shulman, who tied the knot in Big Sur in 2012. Shortly after their wedding, Hathaway shared her desire to become a mother — and her concern about privacy invasion — in a roundtable discussion with The Hollywood Reporter. “I’m thinking about that [the paparazzi] because I really want to have a baby, and my husband and I are like, ‘Where are we gonna live?’ “
This is one mama the paparazzi is not going to want to mess with.
