As Cannes gets underway, iconic camera maker ARRI reported that it’s launching a new subsidiary, ARRI CT France (CT for Cine Technik), giving the Munich-headquartered company’s camera and lighting business an expanded presence in the country.
The new subsidiary will support the Alexa 65, the company’s top-of-the-line motion picture camera, available from ARRI Rental, that has been used on films including The Revenant and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
Timed to the company’s centennial celebration, ARRI CT France plans to operate out of a new central office in Paris, slated to open in September, as well as through satellite offices.
For many years, marketing and business development for the ARRI brand in France was done through distributor Imageworks, under the direction of Natasza Chroscicki and Natacha Vlatkovic. The new subsidiary will be overseen by Chroscicki, managing director, and Vlatkovic, business development manager. Additionally, ARRI recently recruited Christian Léonard to develop the company’s EMEA activities in the broadcast and theatrical lighting market, with a focus on France.
“Considering that the French film industry is one of the strongest and most prestigious in the world, we are very pleased about expanding our capabilities in this important film market,” said Jörg Pohlman, executive board member of ARRI, in a statement.
