TORONTO – The Harold Greenberg Fund has invested coin in a theatrical feature treatment for Teletoon’s Atomic Betty cartoon series from Canadian producer Skywriter Television.
The Canadian industry fund is bankrolling a first script for Atomic Betty: The Movie, to be written by Alex Galatis.
“By combining live action and animation we are extending the Atomic Betty audience to tweens and young teens with an aged-up Betty who attends a real-life junior high school,” Kevin Gillis, CEO of Skywriter Media and Entertainment Group, and executive producer on the movie project, told Playback Daily in Canada.
Skywriter will be shopping the theatrical film project at MIPCOM.
