When the trailer for the Marvel superhero epic finally hit the web, it brought with it plenty of explosions, tricked out superhero suits and, of course, a little wit from Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.).

While pictures from filming have already leaked, a few teaser photos have been released by Disney and the last few minutes of Captain America showed a preview of The Avengers, this is the first real, longer-than-a-blink look we get at the cast, which includes Thor (Chris Hemsworth), The Incredible Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Captain America (Chris Evans), Iron Man (Downey) and Nick Fury (Jackson).

The Joss Whedon-helmed project won’t hit theaters until May 4, 2012, but the trailer shows that Loki (Tom Hiddleston) is on a serious mission to rule the world. The Avengers, including Loki’s brother, Thor, will have to use their combined skills and powers to protect Earth.
But don’t expect it to be a peaceful team. In the trailer, we get a peek into a little tiff between Captain America and Iron Man/Tony Stark. Of course, Stark can defuse any situation with a little bit of sarcasm and humor.
