Ben Stiller has spoken out about his mother Anne Meara‘s passing on May 23.
“Thank you so much for all the kind words about Anne,” the actor tweeted early Monday morning. “All of us in our family feel so lucky to have had her in our lives.”
Following the news that Meara had passed away on Saturday at age 85 (no further details of her death have been disclosed), friends, family and notable Hollywood figures sent their condolences to Stiller, who is currently in Europe filming Zoolander 2. Gilbert Gottfried, Chris Hardwick and Eric Roberts were among those who took to Twitter to extend warm wishes to the family.
On Tuesday morning, Stiller uploaded a picture of his mother to his Instagram account, with the simple caption: “My mom Anne. She was an extraordinary person. Miss her.”
