COLOGNE, Germany – Company Orheim, a coming-of-age tale from Norwegian director Arild Andresen (The Liverpool Goalie) was the big winner at this year’s Goteborg film festival, taking the Dragon Award for best Nordic film.
Set in the 1980s, Company Orheim tells the struggles of a teenage boy growing up with an alcoholic father. It is the third film in a trilogy – following The Man Who Loved Yngve (2008) and I Travel Alone (2011), based on the novels of Tore Renberg. Company Orheim will have its first industry screening at the European Film Market in Berlin this week. NonStop is handling worldwide sales.
Andreas Dresen‘s Cannes Un Certain Regard winner Stopped on Track won Goteborg’s audience award for best film. The Match Factor is selling Stopped on Track in Berlin.
In Goteborg, the Italian film Corpo Celeste from director Alice Rohrwacher won this year’s Ingmar Bergman international debut honor.
