TORONTO — German distributor KSM has picked up the UK and German rights to the Canadian indie zombie pic Dead Before Dawn 3D following its Berlinale bow.
And Big Movie acquired the Christopher Lloyd-starrer from Canadian director April Mullen for Russia.
Dead Before Dawn 3D, repped by VMI Worldwide, follows college kids that accidentally unleash an evil curse that causes people to kill themselves and turn into zombie demons, or zemons.
Lloyd plays the occult shop-running grandfather of Casper Galloway, played by Devon Bostick.
The ensemble cast includes Martha MacIsaac, Brandon Jay McLaren, Brittany Allen (All My Children), Kevin McDonald, Ellen Dubin and Rossif Sutherland.
The film, shot in stereoscopic 3D, was written by Tim Doiron, who also produces with Mullen.
