Berlin Unveils Final Panorama Films
Sebastian Silva,’s ‘Nasty Badir.’ and Mitchell Lichtenstein’s period drama ‘Angelica’ will screen in the Berlin festival sidebar.
The Berlin International Film Festival has unveiled several more titles for its Panorama sidebar.
Among the highlights are Nasty Baby, the gay adoption drama from Chilean director Sebastian Silva (The Maid) starring Kristen Wiig and Alia Shawkat; the Mexican thriller 600 Miles, featuring Tim Roth, from first-timer Gabriel Ripstein; and Angelica, an Victorian age period drama from Mitchell Lichtenstein (Teeth).
Blue Blood, a Brazilian feature from director Lirio Ferreira, will open the Panorama program in Berlin Feb. 5. Two other Brazilian features, Absence from Chico Teixeira and Anna Muylaert‘s The Second Mother, will also screen in Panorama.
Out of My Hand, the debut feature from director Takeshi Fukunaga, is one of several titles announced Jan. 16 that will have its world premiere in Panorama. Others include Thai dream How To Win At Checkers (Every Time) from Josh Kim; Sibs Shongwe-La Mer‘s South African feature Necktie Youth; Argentine Marco Berger‘s Butterfly; Anucha Boonyawatana‘s The Blue Hour and Petting Zoo, a Texas-set drama and first feature from German director Micah Magee.
Panorama will announce the final films for its non-fiction section, Dokumente, next week.
