Sons of Anarchy star Henry Rollins is set to return as the immortal, cannibalistic loner Jack in He Never Died 2, the sequel to the 2015 horror flick that marked the actor-musician’s lead acting debut.
Jason Krawczyk, who wrote and directed He Never Died, will shoot He Never Died 2 in May in North Bay, Ontario. There was no immediate word on additional casting.
V71 Entertainment, which recently launched at the American Film Market, has secured the world rights to the sequel and is introducing the project to foreign buyers at Berlin’s European Film Market. Rollins plays Jack, a socially detached cannibal cursed with immortality.
After saving his estranged daughter from his criminal past in the original movie, Jack is now a vagabond attempting to keep his supernatural compulsion in check. Along the way, he confronts depraved sadists similar to his own long life of destruction and must defy his inner demons and strike a balance of revenge and responsibility.
He Never Died debuted at SXSW in 2015, ahead of a North American theatrical release and streaming on Netflix and other digital platforms.
V71 Entertainment president David Miller, who executive produced the first film, will produce the sequel along with Zach Hagen. V71 at the European Film Market is also shopping Lovesick, starring Jessica Pare, Jacob Tierney and Jay Baruchel, and the WolfCop sequel, Another WolfCop, starring Kevin Smith.
