Rebecca Hall will star opposite Jason Sudeikis in romantic comedy Tumbledown, directed by Sean Mewshaw and written by Desi Van Til.
Blythe Danner and Joe Manganiello also star in the film, which Sierra/Affinity has come aboard to handle internationally. Sierra will launch the project to foreign buyers at Berlin’s upcoming European Film Market. CAA is representing domestic rights.

Set to start production in late March in Massachusetts, Tumbledown stars Hall as a young widow unable to move on after the death of her husband, an acclaimed musician and the subject of a biography she’s struggling to write. She teams with a brash New York academic (Sudeikis) who has an entirely different take on her husband’s life, and death, as they try to make the biography a reality.
Sudeikis’ star status is on the rise after last summer’s box-office hit We’re the Millers.
Kristin Hahn is producing Tumbledown with Aaron L. Gilbert and Margot Hand of Bron Studios Inc.
“Tumbledown reflects our company’s ongoing effort to shepherd talented young filmmakers and deliver compelling films to the international marketplace. We are proud to bring this comedic love story starring an incredible cast to Berlin and provide it to moviegoers worldwide,” Sierra CEO Nick Meyer said.
Hahn and Gilbert added: “Speaking on behalf of our entire creative team, we feel like we won the lottery with Rebecca Hall joining our cast. She brings such soulfulness to everything she does and when we imagine her incredible wit paired with the genius of Sudeikis and the enormous talent of our supporting cast, it gives us goose bumps that we can’t wait to transfer to the screen.”
Hall is represented by Julian Belfrage Associates and WME.
