Gone Girl‘s Boyd Holbrook and House of Cards‘ Rachel Brosnahan will star in the indie drama Boomtown, where they will be joined by Jocelin Donahue (Knight of Cups) and newcomer Tyler Riggs.
Boomtown follows the story of JT Turner (Riggs), who leaves his wife (Donahue) and infant son behind to journey to Williston, N.D., to make his fortune in the modern-day oil business.
Holbrook plays JT’s childhood best friend and Brosnahan plays a local bartender in the oil town.
The film will mark the feature directorial debut for Sabyn Mayfield, who co-wrote the script with David Newbert, who also acts as the production’s cinematographer.
Holbrook recently appeared in a supporting role in David Fincher’s Gone Girl and can currently be seen on Netflix’s Narcos, the series that follows the rise of drug lord Pablo Escobar.
Brosnahan played a former prostitute on the run in Netflix’s House of Cards, a role that garnered her an Emmy nomination. She also appears in the critically acclaimed WGN series Manhattan.
Holbrook is repped by CAA and LBI Entertainment. Brosnahan is repped by Innovative Artists and Carole Dibo Talent Management. Donahue is repped by ICM Partners and The Group. Riggs is repped by Next Model Management.
