The Breakfast at Tiffany’s brownstone is back on the market.
The four-story property, located on the Upper East Side (169 East 71st Street), provided the exterior shots for the 1961 adaptation of Truman Capote‘s novella, which starred Audrey Hepburn as socialite Holly Golightly and George Peppard as Paul Varjak, an aspiring writer and new neighbor who serves as her love interest.

The duplex will be converted into a four-bedroom, five-bath single-family home spans 3,800 square feet, including an enclosed greenhouse and basement, and also has a backyard, according to listing agent Asher Alcobi of Peter Ashe Real Estate.
The townhouse was previously owned by Peter Bacanovic, a former Merrill Lynch broker who was sentenced to five months in prison for his role in Martha Stewart‘s insider trading case and bought the property in 2000 for $1.88 million. It sold in 2012 for $5.97 million.
