False Impression Jeffrey Archer - P 2012
TORONTO – Canadian indie producer New Franchise Media has tapped Brian D. Young to do a re-write of the Jeffrey Archer novel False Impression, now in the script stage.
Toronto-based New Franchise, which last year acquired the worldwide film, TV and digital rights to a slate of ten thriller novels by Archer, and The Kennedy/Marshall Company have also hired Richard Regen to adapt the separate novel, A Matter of Honor, into a multi-film franchise property.
False Impression, published by Archer in 2005, is an action-crime novel set on several continents considered ripe for an action thriller.
Young is a writer and co-producer on 180 Degrees, the thriller directed by Richard Gabai and now in post-production.
On A Matter of Honor, New York-based Regen is charged with creating an action sequel based on Archer’s Honor Among Thieves novel using a recurring character from A Matter of Honor, Adam Scott, as the main focus.
Regen last wrote the untitled biopic about New York Jets linebacker Bart Scott, which he developed with Gay Talese for Warner Bros.-based producers Bob Shaye and Michael Lynne.
Regen is repped by UTA.
