Brian De Palma - H 2015
AP ImagesBrian De Palma is attached to direct the adaptation of the black comedy book The Truth and Other Lies.
Written by Sascha Arango, the novel follows famous writer Henry Hayden, who manages to uphold his image as a loving husband but is in danger of losing the facade when his mistress becomes pregnant. It was awarded the the Prix Européen du Polar du Point, the European prize for best literary debut.
Arango wrote the screenplay for the project, which will be produced by Nick Wechsler, Steve Schwartz and Paula Mae Schwartz.
The controversial director known for such movies as Carrie, Scarface and The Untouchables was the recent subject of a documentary from Noah Baumbach and Jake Paltrow. De Palma premiered to acclaim at the 2015 Venice Film Festival and was later acquired by A24.
De Palma is repped by ICM.
