Kristen Wiig and Annie Mumolo are going from the Vista Del Mar to a magical kingdom.
The duo will write a Disney live-action musical comedy centering on the evil stepsisters — Anastasia and Drizella — from the animated classic Cinderella. The musical comedy will be a re-imagining of the fairytale from their perspective.
Jessica Elbaum and Will Ferrell will produce Gloria Sanchez, which was behind the Oscar-nominated duo’s last feature the Lionsgate comedy Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar.
Anastasia and Drizella join a cadre of classic Disney villains that have gotten the stand-alone live-action treatment, including Sleeping Beauty‘s Maleficent and the upcoming feature Cruella, which stars Emma Stone as the evildoer from 101 Dalmations.
Mumolo is repped by UTA, Thruline and Jackoway Austen. Wiig is repped by CAA and Jackoway Austen.
