FilmNation Entertainment is reteaming with Pedro Almodovar to sell his next film, Los Amantes Pasajeros, which is debuting at the Marche du Film in Cannes.
Written and directed by Almodovar, the comedy stars Javier Camara (Talk to Her), Cecilia Roth (All About My Mother) and Lola Duenas (Volver) and follows a very mixed group of travelers who are in a life-threatening situation aboard a plane flying to Mexico City. Their defenselessness in the face of danger provokes colorful confessionals that become the best way to escape from the thought of death.
Agustin Almodovar will produce his brother’s film, which is in preproduction, alongside Esther Garcia.

Glen Basner’s FilmNation also handled international sales on Almodovar’s The Skin I Live In, which premiered at Cannes last year.
“We are delighted to continue our relationship with Pedro after a fantastic ride on The Skin I Live In,” Basner said. “FilmNation has always been a destination for filmmakers, and we’ve had the privilege of working with a roster of incredibly talented filmmakers like Pedro.”
At Cannes, FilmNation Entertainment is also handling international sales on Sofia Coppola‘s The Bling Ring, starring Emma Watson, Leslie Mann and Taissa Farmiga, and Tracers, starring Taylor Lautner and produced by Temple Hill Entertainment. In addition, FilmNation has two competition titles on the Croisette: Lawless, from director John Hillcoat, starring Shia LaBeouf and Tom Hardy, and Jeff Nichols’ Mud, produced by FilmNation’s Aaron Ryder and starring Matthew McConaughey and Reese Witherspoon.
