Richard Shotwell/Invision/APThe Weinstein Company has acquired Three Generations, the Gaby Dellal-directed film starring Elle Fanning, Naomi Watts and Susan Sarandon.
The story centers on three generations of women from one family. Fanning stars as a teen who decides to transition from female to male, while Watts plays her mother, and Sarandon plays her grandmother, who is a lesbian.
CAA and ICM Partners brokered the deal.
Weinstein earlier this week acquired the boxing drama Hands of Stone, starring Edgar Ramirez and Robert De Niro.
