Emma Roberts will star in Now I See You, a drama from Tucker Tooley’s Tooley Entertainment and Entertainment One.
Tooley is producing the project with Alexandra Milchan and Scott Lambert of Emjag Films. The project is one of the first from Tooley’s overall deal with eOne and also reteams him with Roberts, with whom he worked on the hit comedy We’re the Millers.
Abby McDonald wrote the script, adapting the memoir by Nicole Kear.
Kear was a senior at Yale when she learned that she had only a few years before completely losing her vision. She then set out to make the most of the eyesight she has left, but even as her world becomes blurrier, one thing becomes clear: she can’t win the battle against blindness. Learning lessons in courage and hope, she begins to come to terms with her loss, finding true love and success of which she had dreamed.
Executive producing are Roberts, Kear, David Sweeney and Tooley Entertainment’s Jason Barhydt.
Tooley has several projects in the can, including Den of Thieves, starring Gerard Butler and Curtis Jackson and set for a Jan. 19, 2018, release, as well as Hunter Killer, set for an Oct. 13, 2018, release and also starring Butler.
Roberts starred in Ryan Murphy’s horror show Scream Queens and last starred in the thriller Nerve with James Franco. She has several movies in postproduction, among them The Billionaire Boys Club with Taron Egerton.
Roberts is repped by CAA and Sweeney Entertainment. McDonald is repped by Paradigm and Exile Entertainment.
