Silver Pictures’ Autobahn has rounded out its cast with Nicholas Hoult, Felicity Jones, Anthony Hopkins and Ben Kingsley ahead of the start of production on May 5.
IM Global is financing the film, with additional financing by Sycamore Pictures and DMG Entertainment.
Welcome To the Punch helmer Eran Creevy is directing the film, which follows young American couple Casey (Hoult) and Juliette (Jones), who are plunged into a game of cat and mouse across Germany after they find themselves caught between two ruthless criminals (Hopkins and Kingsley). The project will shoot entirely in Germany.
Joel Silver will produce through his Silver Pictures banner, along with Ben Pugh and Rory Aitken of 42 and Brian Kavanaugh Jones of Automatik.
Silver Pictures’ Steve Richards and Aaron Auch are executive producing, along with Stuart Ford and Matt Jackson of IM Global. Additional executive producers include DMG’s Dan Mintz, Wu Bing and Peter Xiao; DMG’s LA-based Motion Picture Group president Chris Fenton and producing partner Chris Cowles; and Sycamore’s Tom Rice and Ben Nearn.
Hoult, who has been attached to the project since 2013, next appears in X-Men: Days of Future Past, and in Mad Max: Fury Road in 2015. Jones, who starred in The Invisible Woman and Breathe In, will next be seen in The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
Hopkins can be seen currently in Noah and later this year in Solace. Kingsley will be seen later this year in Ridley Scott‘s Exodus: Gods and Kings and Night at the Museum 3.
“When I first read F. Scott Frazier’s script for Autobahn, I knew it had the makings of a great action movie. It’s a gritty, adrenaline-fueled thrill ride through Europe with an incredible cast,” said Silver in a statement.
Added Ford: “We are firm believers in Eran Creevy as one of Europe’s most talented young directors, and it’s exciting to have assembled such a great pool of both up-and-coming and illustrious talent.”
DMG Entertainment developed the film with Black List writer F. Scott Frazier, who is repped by CAA, DMG and attorneys Jeff Frankel & Rob Goldman.
