London-based Carnaby International has snapped up international sales rights to A Matter of Honor, an action-packed feature film based on Jeffrey Archer’s best-selling novel of the same title.
The film will be adapted into a spy thriller and is headed to Cannes this week as part of Carnaby International’s slate for its official sales launch. An all-star cast will soon be announced.
Carnaby International’s director of sales Tania Sarra, along with Sriram Das and Steven Shapiro of Das Films, brokered the deal.
A Matter of Honor centers on Adam Scott, who, upon collecting the remnants of his father’s will, is immediately on the run and being pursued by Russia’s FSB and the CIA. Unbeknownst to him, his new possession holds a secret dating back to the Cold War and has more value today than he could have ever imagined.
A Matter of Honor will be directed by Emmy winner Jon Cassar (24, Forsaken, When the Bough Breaks) with a screenplay by Keith Arnold (The November Man, Some Kind of Beautiful) and produced by Das Films with Das, Shapiro and JJ Meyers alongside New Franchise Media’s Jeffrey Steiner and Dianne Schwalm.
“Jeffrey Archer is a master storyteller and we are excited to bring his incredible work to the big screen,” said Das. “As one of the most original and talented directors working today, Jon Cassar can’t be better suited to deliver a thrilling, crowd-pleasing action experience.”
Added Sarra: “The moment I read this script I knew it would feed perfectly into the commercial projects the market is looking for right now. With Jon Cassar at the helm, it’s going to be a beautiful picture with fast-paced, slick action throughout. I’m thrilled to be working alongside such a talented team and excited to bring this to market.”
Cassar, who is currently shooting the miniseries The Medici for Netflix, is repped by Paradigm Talent Agency.
