Swedish distribution indie NonStop Entertainment returns from the Cannes market with a full suitcase of titles, having picked up Scandinavian rights for a dozen titles, among them Clio Barnard‘s Directors’ Fortnight entry The Selfish Giant from Protagonist Pictures; Shane Meadows‘ Stone Roses documentary from Altitude Film Sales and Michael Winterbottom‘s A Trip to Italy from Goalpost Film.? Earlier, NonStop signed pan-Scandinavian deals for Cannes competition entries Fruitvale Station with The Weinstein Company and Jim Jarmusch‘s Only Lovers Left Alive with Hanway.
Other notable buys include Paul Wright‘s For Those in Peril, a Critics Week title from Protagonist; Jeremy Saulnier‘s revenge thriller Blue Ruin from Memento; 6Sales’ thriller Big Bad Wolves about the hunt for a pedophile and the Wesley Snipes zombie actioner Gallowwalker from VMI Worldwide.
“This has been the most productive Cannes festival for us yet,” said NonStop distribution and acquisitions director Jakob Abrahamsson, saying this year’s deals will “further solidify NonStop Entertainment’s position as Northern Europe’s premier upmarket distributor.”
