TORONTO – Phase 4 Films has grabbed the North American distribution rights to writer/director Claudia Myers’ Fort Bliss, which stars True Detective‘s Michelle Monaghan.
Toronto-based Phase 4 plans a Fall 2014 theatrical release for the film about a decorated U.S. soldier who returns home after a stint in Afghanistan.
Monaghan stars as a military medic who must choose between serving her country or raising her son.
Fort Bliss also stars Ron Livingston, Freddy Rodriguez, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Gbenga Akkinagbe, Pablo Schreiber and John Savage.
The film is produced by John Sullivan, Adam Silver, Patrick Cunningham and Brendan McDonald.
The rights deal was negotiated by Phase 4’s Katharyn Howe and Elisabeth Costa de Beauregard of Voltage Pictures on behalf of the filmmakers.
Voltage Pictures, which holds the worldwide rights, started selling Fort Bliss at the American Film Market.
