Cannes: Warner Bros. Taking Glenn Close Zombie Thriller for U.K.

Warner Bros. has taken U.K. distribution rights to upcoming post-apocalyptic zombie thriller She Who Brings Gifts, starring Glenn Close, Paddy Considine and Gemma Arterton. The film is being directed by Colm McCarthy, whose credits include TV hits Sherlock, Doctor Who and Peaky Blinders.

Additional castmembers include 12-year-old newcomer Sennia Nanua, who is set to take the lead role of a unique child who will decide the fate of humanity. Anamaria Marinca (Fury; 4 Months, 3 Weeks & 2 Days), Fisayo Akinade (Ordinary Lies), Anthony Welsh (Starred Up) and Dominique Tipper (DMX, Vampire Academy) will also star.

Based on the M.R. Carey’s novel The Girl With All the Gifts, the film has been funded by the BFI Film Fund, Creative England and Altitude Film Entertainment, with Altitude handing international sales. It is set to start shooting in the U.K. on May 17.
