Woody Allen is going to Cannes. Again.
The director’s latest film, Cafe Society, will open the 69th Cannes International Film Festival on May 11 in an out-of-competition slot.
Kristen Stewart and Jesse Eisenberg head an all-star cast that includes Blake Lively, Parker Posey and Steve Carell.
Eisenberg plays a young man who arrives in Hollywood during the 1930s hoping to work in the film industry and then finds himself swept up in the vibrant cafe society that defined the spirit of the age.

This will be Allen’s 14th film to screen in Cannes, all out of competition. The last was Irrational Man in 2015.
Eisenberg walked Cannes’ red carpet last year as the co-star of Joachim Trier’s Louder Than Bombs. Stewart is a Cannes regular. Her last appearance at the festival was in 2014 for Olivier Assayas‘ Clouds of Sils Maria, a role that earned her a Cesar, France’s highest cinema award, making her the first-ever American actress to be so honored.
Letty Aronson, Stephen Tenenbaum and Edward Walson produced Cafe Society as a co-production together with Helen Robin. Ronald L. Chez, Adam B. Stern and Marc I. Stern executive produced. FilmNation Entertainment is handling international sales. Mars Films will bow the film in French cinemas day-and-date with its Cannes premiere.
The fest is set to announce its full lineup on April 14.
