Not content with bringing Marvel’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier to the big screen, the team of Joe and Anthony Russo continue their comic book connections with the newly announced Ciudad, a comic project created with writer Ande Parks.
Described by publisher Oni Press as a “brutally violent, action-packed thriller,” Ciudad follows a mercenary struggling to complete his mission for a drug lord while having to deal with a city filled with police, gang warfare and assassins out to make his life more difficult. Art for the book is provided by Fernando Leon.

The December release is just one of a host of titles announced today by the Oregon-based publisher, best known for its Scott Pilgrim series. Other titles to be released this year include The Life After, a new series by Joshua Hale Fialkov and Gabo; a new Sixth Gun prequel called Days of the Dead by Cullen Bunn, Brian Hurtt and Mike Norton; and the original graphic novel I Was the Cat by Eisner Award-winning writer Paul Tobin and artist Ben Dewey.
