Carrie Gormley has been promoted to president of theatrical advertising at Create Advertising Group, while Jonathan Gitlin has been promoted to president of television and gaming. The promotions were announced today by David Stern, managing partner at the marketing company Create Advertising, which he co-founded in 2005.
Both Gitlin and Gormley will report to Stern, who also serves as CEO of Create, which develops film trailers, television spots and other audio visual material used in entertainment marketing.
Gormley will oversee the theatrical group, which has worked with various studios to create campaigns for such films as The Amazing Spider-Man, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, The Lego Movie, Despicable Me 2, Thor: The Dark World, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, Alice in Wonderland, Skyfall, Casino Royale, Iron Man, Iron Man 2 and Django Unchained.
Meanwhile, Gitlin has helped expand the company into television and gaming, producing trailers and spots for such TV series as Sons of Anarchy, Orange is the New Black, Fargo, Manhattan and The Americans and games like Dark Souls II, God of War 3, Twisted Metal and Just Dance 4 and the console debut of Playstation 4.
“Jonathan and Carrie represent the best of Create. They are both long time members of our team and part of our DNA is recognizing and rewarding home grown talent,” Stern said in announcing the promotions.
Create Advertising has been nominated for four awards at The Hollywood Reporter’s Key Art Awards, which take place Oct. 23 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. It was nominated for its theatrical trailer for Lucy as well as its television work for Fargo and Orange is the New Black.
