The 54-year-old actor, who nabbed an Oscar for 2010’s The King’s Speech, was asked by the New York Post at a New York City screening of the film on Monday whether he sustained any injuries during the shoot.

“I broke a tooth, which was probably the one that was most troublesome,” he said. “I collided with a hard object. I don’t know whether it was a gun or a pole? I don’t think I particularly noticed [the pain] until later.”

The film, marking Firth’s first foray into the full-throttle world of shoot-’em-up actioners, was directed by Matthew Vaughn (X-Men: First Class) and co-stars Samuel L. Jackson, Mark Strong, Taron Egerton and Michael Caine.
Twentieth Century Fox releases the film on Friday.
