They’re the first members of the ensemble for Jed Rigney‘s film, which centers on a group of five friends who reluctantly travel to a resort for a wedding that deteriorates into mayhem. Rigney wrote the script, and Justin Workman will produce through his Zuko Films.
The film is Rigney’s second narrative feature, following the comedy Nowhere Girl, which is looking for a distributor.
Wheelan’s other projects lined up include starring with H. Jon Benjamin in the Adult Swim pilot Biker Bar and opening for John Oliver on his stand-up tour this winter. Fellow comedian Braunohler recently sold a late-night talk show pilot to Comedy Central and has a webseries, Roustabout, at the network. He previously hosted the comedy game show Bunk on IFC.
Cassidy starred in TBS’s Men at Work and appeared on The O.C. and The CW’s Privileged. His film credits include roles in Argo, The Guilt Trip and the upcoming Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice.
The three actors are all repped by Gersh. Wheelan and Braunohler are repped by Avalon Management, and Cassidy is repped by Larry Taube and Sandy Erickson.
